At a young age, I would frequently ask my mom for graph paper and a “budget,” and would spend hours sketching out room dimensions and searching the internet for deals on furniture to give her a “room renovation proposal.” I rearranged my bedroom for fun just about every month, and was painting the walls a new color each year. One year in particular, mom even let me retexture my walls (major regrets.) When I hit college, I refused to pay full price for furniture so I spent the summer before school learning how to build a dresser with my dad, and scouting countless thrift stores for pieces that I could restore and refinish. At age 23 I got married to my greatest gift, Ryan Moore, who happened to be quite passionate about real estate and incredibly gifted in renovating homes. In three years of marriage, we renovated four homes together and counting!
In 2017, Restoring Moore Photography bloomed from an excitement to capture our fixer uppers, our family, and the new places we were traveling as newlyweds. Looking back at photos from years ago or days ago, printing them out and hanging them in our home brings me so much joy. RMP has been a sweet creative outlet for me to connect with and capture these same images for others!
And in 2022, we welcomed our beautiful Mila girl into the world. My transition into motherhood opened my eyes to just how much I appreciated that our home was both beautiful and functional, a space where I could find rest and joy with the ones I love most. It was a space for me to design, to create and to dream. My hope & prayer is that Restoring Moore provides you inspiration and encouragement to make your own home feel just a bit more homey, where you too can find rest and joy in a beautiful and functional space. And if you need a helping hand, I hope you SAY HEY so we can connect. After all, restoring moore homes is what fills my cup!
